When starting racing for the first time or even an experienced racer there are many rules and regulations that need to be followed. Initially in the low key events such as Summer League you will be given more “leeway” in application of the rules but as you progress to races of national importance the rules are applied more precisely. In other words if the rules are broken you could be sanctioned. However the "racer" is always given the "Benefit of the doubt"
All races are run under International Race Rules which are varied by the appropriate organisations depending on the status of the event. The ERSA Race managers meet at the start of each year to discuss the rules and organisation of the Summer League for the coming season.
