 NEWS
Well done to Hemel club for organising and hosting the Snowsport England one day Race Officials course - the event was subsidised between Hemel and ERSA and the turnout from ERSA clubs was excellent. We look forward to seeing the newly qualified officials at this summers events.

Happy retirement to Derek Barbanell who has finally decided to quit the slopes both dry and snow at an age most people would be getting around in a bath chair. Derek has a long history associated with the beginning of skiing and racing in Suffolk and the formation of the Vikings team and over the years Derek was also very active in ERSA and ESC and held several committee positions. We wish him well.

Don't forget the 1st ERSA Summer League race is on 25th April at Hemel.

SNOASIS
350 acres of land in an old cement works and quarry have been purchased in Mid Suffolk by a consortium who intend to build a winter sports based attraction expected to bring in 200,000 visitors a month at a cost of £300 million. A 400 metre main slope and 100 metre training slope is anticipated. Plus ice rink. Local planning application is due to be made this spring and architectural design and test work has already been done. A smaller snoasis already exists in Madrid.
