Entry Form                  Relay Rules (SSE)

The ERSA Dual Slalom event is a once a year competition normally in July open to all clubs within the Eastern Region Ski Association. The  Event is  organised by the Eastern Region Ski Association with the help of the Clubs within the Region. The event will be run under Snowsport England  rules  as for “Parallel Slalom Relays” varied by ERSA.  Rules as for the Summer League will also apply. A course setter from the Home slope will be assigned if possible as local slope knowledge is considered desirable.

QUALIFICATION OF ENTRY

As for all ERSA events, competitors must have as their first Club, a Club which is affiliated to ERSA. Each Club has to provide at least 2 race officials. All team entries have to be made on the attached race entry forms; handed to the race office on the day of the event or before the event if possible. Clubs may enter as many teams as they wish.  A Children’s event with racers from CH2 and below and an Open event will be run. Racers may not ski for more than one club or one team category. No restriction on make up of teams, either single sex or mixed.

FORMAT AND BRIEF SUMMERY OF RULES

The races will take the form of a “PARRELLEL RELAY event, 4 racers per team. Racers will race on identical courses side by side. The winner to be decided by the first team to complete the course correctly. In the event of both teams being disqualified the team that has travelled the furthest down the course before the disqualification will be declared the winner. The first racer will be allowed one false start, thereafter in the event of a false start of any subsequent racer will entail a 6 second  penalty to the following racer except for the final racer where the team will be disqualified. Teams will be drawn into leagues and will race each other team in their league. Points will be awarded and depending on the number of teams entered a minimum of 8 teams will progress to the “FINAL” knockout stages. Electronic timing will be used if available. If possible ideally there should be one manager responsible for each team. This will simplify the organisation of the event and allow it to run more smoothly on the day.
