PROPOSED SNOW FACILITIES IN SUFFOLK/HARLOW APPEAL

 

a.

JA reported on the newly proposed snow facility planned in Suffolk to be completed by 2010.

 

b.

JA reported on the Harlow ski centre appeal hearing on 15 June 2004. Alan Jones will represent Snowsport England and JA will represent ERSA.

SNOWSPORT ENGLAND AGM

 

 

Is planned for 15 May 2004. JA and PvK will attend. Both are happy to represent any club of our region and vote on their behalf.

ACCIDENT REPORT

 

 

JA will create an accident report form to be used at any race meeting organised by a Club in our Region. After each race meeting the assigned ERSA representative should sign the report mentioning any minor or major accidents. These forms will be kept centrally and will provide a true picture on any accidents happened over a period of time.

ERSA SQUADS AND TRAINING

 

 

PF reported that the 2004 ERSA Squad and Development Squad have been selected and the names are posted on the ERSA website. PF to liaise with SL regarding dates for training sessions. Also, PF to look into getting the Squad sweat shirts on order ASAP.

JA asks all Clubs/parents to let him have any local Newspaper e-mail address so he can circulate all race results of race meetings organised in our Region on a regular basis.

ERSA SUMMER CAMP 2004

RH circulated the information on the 4th ERSA Summer Race Training Camp. Venue: Hintertux Glacier,

Dates: Saturday 31 July – Saturday, 01 August 2004

As usual, parents are welcome.

All information, booking forms, Medical Consent Form, etc. can be forwarded to the club organizers electronically as well. Please contact Ros.Humphrey@ntlworld.com for your club’s copy.

Clubs are asked to let RH ASAP know how many beds she should book for each group.

SL has posted ERSA’s race calendar on the website

PvK reported briefly on the RTP race managers meeting and on the trail period of the newly created RAINBOW dual slalom races at the Summer League races.

ERSA Championships 2004 to be held on 17 October 2004 at (WGC or Brentwood)

OFFICIAL RACE SETTERS COURSE

 

 

RH to contact Snowsport England regarding an official Course Setters Course to be held in our Region in Summer 2004. (In the meantime, SnowSport England has declined ERSA’s offer to organize this course and promised to put such a course on their agenda for autumn).

REGIONAL RACE TRAINERS/COACHES SEMINAR )

 

 

PF asked for a regional race trainer’s seminar/talk shop. RH to find venue (13 JUNE 2004 at WGC SKI CENTRE/PUMA ROOM) for this work shop to be attended by race trainers/coaches from our Region discussing various topics on race training, development work, fitness training for racers as suggested by Snowsport GB, technical training as suggested by Snowsport GB, etc.

Clubs are asked to send at least one of their regular race trainers to this seminar. Detailed information will be circulated as soon as the venue is secured.

A CD on the fitness training for young athletes was obtained by ERSA from Snowsport GB and if anybody has a CD ROM disc burner, copies could me made for all Clubs. Can YOU help? (Phil Brown will get 10 copies to RH for distributing to the various Clubs in our Region).
